Anthesis, a Nonprofit Corporation (Anthesis) gives adults with disabilities opportunities to blossom within a caring, nurturing, and supportive community.

Anthesis, formerly known as pvw, has fostered skills, confidence, and purpose to help thousands of adults with disabilities bloom since its founding in 1966. The goal of each program is to hasten the process of placing individuals in competitive integrated employment situations. It also serves to expose them to more community integration opportunities.

We are a leading provider of social and business services that engage and connect adults with disabilities within their local communities through job training, partnerships with local businesses, and supportive social experiences. . Among other changes moving forward as anthesis, we added a new transition program called  along with a discovery program to identify goals for  individuals based on their desires, skills and abilities these programs have been developed to teach individuals job readiness skills on a more individualized basis.

Although we leave behind a rich legacy as pvw, anthesis will grow and expand its rich heritage. We help adults with disabilities develop the skills and confidence to blossom, and we empower them to bloom into contributing members of the community. In 2017, the organization changed its name to anthesis to better reflect the direction and services it offers to the community. With opportunities to work with our clients, and with the goal of greater community integration for everyone, anthesis will continue to lead the way in providing services to the idd population for the next 50 years. We chose the name anthesis, because it perfectly captures our mission to support independent and inclusive lives for adults with disabilities through employment and community integration.
